Real Madrid to trim their squad

Jorge Valdano, the general manager has claimed that some of the Real Madrid squad members will be trimmed as Jose Mourinho is keen to offload the size of the squad.

This summer, there have been more new arrivals at the Berbabeu and Madrid have brought a host of new faces like the Germany star Mesut Ozil, Angel di Maria, Sergio Canales, and Ricardo Carvalho, into their side.

Now, Mourinho, who believes an excess in requirements, is likely to let the players to depart Santiago Bernabeu, with a choice of star names.

“At present, we have 26 players and it is required to lighten the squad and it will happen in the coming days and this position will not affect the Spanish players currently on our books,” the general manager told Marca.

Valdono has confirmed the anticipated departures from the club and revealed that with the end of the transfer window looming, there could be movement soon.

The players like the Dutch star Rafael Van der Vaart, mid fielders Fernando Gago, Mahamadou Diarra and Lassana Diarra, could all be on the market.
